-
The video begins with a montage of non-eating disordered adolescents making
statements representative of the socio-cultural beliefs
which foster the development of eating disorders.
- Young adults in recovery from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge
eating disorder then dispel the nine myths about eating
disorders in terms of their personal stories. This creates the story
line which provides continuity to the video.
- Nine segments follow, each depicting one of the nine myths and the true realities.
- The video concludes with a review of each of the myths and a reiteration of the realities. Two professionals, working with a small group of
students, develop alternative ways to deal with each situation.
